As long as I can remember, the Coombs rodeo has been one of the true summer events here on Vancouver Island. It is held in late July and nowadays attracts locals and summer visitors alike. It really takes you back to a time when things were simpler here. A time when there really were cowboys and the people had a stronger bond to the earth through farming. I try to attend every year. This year I decided to present my images of the rodeo in b&w and tried to capture some of the rodeo's spirit in a few select shots. I hope they say something to you.
